Northern Line

Your ticket for the Northern Line is good for life
It'll never run out before I die
Come home darling, come home
It costs nothing but it blows my mind when you arrive
Open arms and full of life
It's a long story
Cut a long story short
I'm only short of you
It's a long story
Cut a long story short
Get yourself home on the Northern Line
So keep steady on the Northern Line
All you ever wanted is here at home with me
And I can't wait till i see your face again
It's been so long since I put my aarms around you baby I can't wait
Turn up on me any time tell me you're home and I'll lay me down
I won't fuss for a minute, I'm ready I'm ready all the dear damn time
For when you catch yourself on the Northern Line...

Ghosts of the Multi
02:46
|
|||
I watched the demolition of a multi-storey building
From the comfort of my livingroom window
They had two orage machines that kicked and tore the walls down
The machines were like dinosaurs tearing away
At the varying coloured walls of peoples bedrooms
And now decades od memories lie in a heap on the floor
So what will become of the ghosts of the multi
are they heaped up in bedsits or camped out in doorways
I'm of the opinion you can still hear them singing in unison. listen, listen
I walked into the office where the old folks were awful
for offering unwanted tidbits
About the lifew of a worker but I won't hold it over their heads
Cause they've been there for years and they're confident laughing and ne'er do they fear that their jobs wouldn't last
and now decades of memories lie in a heap on the floor
So what will become of the ghosts of the office
did they migrate away will they walk here among us
I'm of the opinion you can still hear them singing in unison listen ...
So what will become of the ghost of a singer, a vagrant, a sinner
an unwanted simian, falsetto poet, boy from nowhere
what will become of him?

Company
02:37
|
|||
Until the fruit of an apple tree grows on a pear tree
I'll be your company, I will be your ally
Until the sun is a rock shrivelled up in the ocean deep
I'll be your company, I will be you rally
Until the hills and the mountains bow down before me
I'll be your company, I will be your ally
(I'm not sure if that;s the correct order...you get it though)

A Leavers Lullaby
03:09
|
|||
I'm a tramp, a drunk and a rover
I'm a hopeless ne'er-do-well
And I'll meet a friend in every inn
And I'll meet the rest in hell
Ho va ree va ro
I mean to let you know
that I've packed a bag with all that I have
and in the morning I will go
I've tried the life of a worker
Yeah I've jumped from job to job
And I've done my time to 5 from 9
And a friend of that I'm not
I've got friends and family all over
Sure there's some I've barely met
And it pains me now as it pained me then
Still there's little I regret
